Kero Blaster App Reviews

One of very few

One of the very few "actual" games in the App Store. Like when you bought a Gameboy game and it was the whole thing; an entire game with no extra app purchases or DLC. 90% of the App Stores games are In-App purchase milk machines, that were built from concept to final product with maximization of profit in mind. This game doesnt follow typical mobile game play-style. It harkens back to a time when the thought put into a game was not only recognized, but appreciated. Not everyone is able to see the work put into this game, but those that do will find this game pretty special. If only I could use a controller with physical buttons. Dont forget to check out Pink Heaven. Its like a teaser version of this game, but still great nonetheless. If you liked this game, you might also like Mutant Mudds. Have fun!

Short but AMAZING

Kero Blaster is a classic 2d shooter that seems similar to Contra for those that live during the NES days. The game mimics the NES graphics and makes the game look charming because of it. Graphics arent everything, obviously. The game is in a way disappointing as the game is short and unlike Pixels previous work, Cave Story, the game lacks a complex story, characters, and gameplay that changes. The game feels too safe and isnt fully with the five dollar price. But there is a hard mode and I think another. The control is fantastical the a joystick controlling the shooting which sounds bad but trust me ITS GREAT. Play it, PLEASE

A masterpiece

Believe when I say this is one of the best platform game ever made for ANY platform. Its fun. The story is super super long. Its comical. A MUST buy. Try it and you wont be sorry.

Love it!

One of the best action platformer shooters Ive ever played, on a phone or console or handheld or anywhere. This games great! Very replayable. Story and world is so charming. Lots of content with a Hard Mode being basically an entirely new game.

Studio Ghibli inspired

This game is so fun. Fun art style, charming story, great mechanics. Totally worth the $ and does an amazing job at saving progress. You can play a bit, walk away from it and pick up where you left off. I love a game that sits nicely between casual and more serious gameplay. I want to play more games from this studio. They totally get it.

Studio Pixel does it again

If youve played Pixels previous title, Cave Story, youll certainly enjoy this game. It looks charmingly simple on the surface, but its got some real challenge to it, whether it be platforming or level hordes of enemies. Rushing through this game really isnt an option, even when the controls are only jump, move, and shoot. Youll also be happy to know that theres more to it than the initial story; Hard mode offers even more challenge while changing the layout of levels, and even after that theres one more mode to play through. The narrative isnt as deep as Cave Story, but this game makes up for it with its overall tight controls and action.

Let it be said- I love this game

I finished the story over about three days, loving every moment. Ive been playing through hard mode and its joyous, but the last level is broken somehow. After I defeat the skinny goon in the business suit, my platform rises into the sky and I die instantly before I can explore a cloud world. I dont know whats happening, but I really want to finish this amazing game!! Please fix it :(

Pixel is a god among men

As someone who adores Cave Story, this is another great game of a similar type. If you have played Cave Story, it has a bit less plat forming and weapon options, but every weapon is useful and mastering them all is essential. The hard mode provides a decent challenge, but never too challenging that you feel frustrated. With a great soundtrack to boot, it is easily worth the price, especially if you want to help Pixel develop more games in the future.

Action Platform of Pixel Perfection

If you consider yourself an iOS game enthusiast who enjoys high-quality action platformers, you will love Kero Blaster. Fun original story and music. Charming graphics. Spectacular design. Solid controls for mobile. Challenging gameplay with a great progression. Gun upgrades are awesome. For its genre, its a true work of art. Addressing the other side: it is a little expensive for its game length, especially when compared to most freemium iOS titles today. This isnt an open world adventure game or some repetitive game of endless grinding. Its a relatively simple retro action platform game designed and developed to perfection. Sure I wish it was a little longer, same with all the best parts of life. For me it was worth every cent. Glad to support devs who go above and beyond like this. I recently went through my purchased apps on iTunes and made a list of my top iOS games with 45 total. Thinking back to playing Kero Blaster literally made me smile. Its definitely in my top 5 if not number one. Retro Action Platform Score: 11/10
